Community Medical Services is a rapidly growing company with room for advancement. We currently have several locations in four states that provide substance use disorder treatment and behavioral services in the form of medication assisted treatment to clients with opioid use disorder.  

As a Medical Assistant for Community Medical Services you will perform different tasks that help increase efficiency and serve patients quickly, take medical histories and record vital signs, explain treatment procedures to patients, and collect RPR, TB, and drug screening tests.  

Hours: M-F, 4 AM - 12 PM

As a full-time medical assistant for Community Medical Services you will also: 

  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens or perform basic laboratory tests on the premises, and dispose of contaminated supplies 
  • Arrange examining-room instruments and equipment  
  • Order and maintain supplies and equipment 
  • Keep waiting room neat, clean and orderly  
  • Maintain client records confidentiality and maintain work area 
  • Maintain documents and schedule appointments  
  • Assist with client check ins, answering telephones, updating medical records, filling out insurance forms, and handle billing and bookkeeping 
  • Answer any client questions and refer clients to appropriate staff 

Medical Assistant Required Competencies: 

  • Culturally competent and sensitive to clients individualized treatment needs 
  • Friendly and respectful to clients and other staff 
  • Clear and efficient communicator 
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills 

Medical Assistant Required Qualifications: 

  • Associates degree in Medical Assisting OR 2 years experience in Medical Assisting OR a combination of education and experience 
  • Certified medical assistant in region of employment 
  • Experience in clinical facility management 
  • Back office experience concerning lab/specimen collection experience preferred
  • Remarkable grammar, spelling, and punctuation, & knowledge of medical terminology 
  • Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette 
  • Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections; phlebotomy certification preferred 
  • The desire to make a positive impact on the world, and a passion for serving those with behavior health issues and substance use disorder.
