Community Medical Services is a rapidly growing company with room for advancement. We currently have several locations in four states that provide substance use disorder and behavioral services in the form of counseling and medication assisted treatment to clients with opioid use disorder.

In this highly visible role you will be working across the North Dakota Region (Fargo, Minot, and Bismarck) to provide outreach and community education on prescription takeback programs, overdose prevention, and medication assisted treatment. This work is in response to the State Targeted Response (STR grant) to the Opioid Crisis. In addition, you will assist treatment teams to ensure the safe, effective, and productive treatment of patients at all times'coordinating between facilities and providers, and serving on the interdisciplinary team for patients.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes the following (Other duties may be assigned)

  1. Provide outreach and community education for patients, families, treatment providers, and other community members on prescription takeback programs, overdose prevention, and medication assisted treatment.
  2. Track and assess patient conditions and assist in the development and adjustment of safe, effective, and productive treatment plans for all patients.
  3. Work with clinic staff, facilities and providers to coordinate and perform clinical activities in accordance with patient treatment plans.



  • Required sensitivity to the needs of those who are chemically dependent.
  • Culturally competent and sensitive to client individualized treatment needs
  • Ability to participate as an effective and efficient team member.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to interact with patients in a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner.
  • Ability to resolve client altercations and manage crisis episodes.
  • Ability to identify and access community resources.



  • Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Experience in substance use disorder rehabilitation and methadone treatment is desirable.
  • Basic computer knowledge is necessary.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% within a 200-mile radius (Fargo, Minot, Bismarck)
  • Bilingual a plus
  • (2) year(s) of experience in opioid treatment program preferred
  • (1) year experience in corrections or criminal justice related position
